The University of Delhi is in the process of revising the undergraduate syllabi under the Learning Outcomes Curriculum Framework (LOCF). The B.Sc. (H) Microbiology programme is being revised as per the national CBCS guidelines and LOCF. The Draft of the same is now ready which may be downloaded here. The Department invites all stakeholders to study the draft and submit comments, if any, for consideration by Committee of Courses. The comments may be submitted by email to ranigupta.udsc57@gmail.com or microsdc@south.du.ac.in latest by 31-May-2019.

Dr.Rani's group has been working on industrial enzymes like protease, lipase, amylase and chitinase since past thirty years. Current research is focused on keratinase, lipase and gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase. More details.....

The focus of Dr.Virdi's lab has been on emerging food- and water-borne pathogens especially molecular epidemiology of Yersinia enterocolitica and antibiotic resistant E.coli, and their public health significance in India. More details.....

Dr.Kuhad's lab has successfully developed processes for production of cellulase, pectinase, xylanase and laccase enzymes. Currently their lab is working on genetically engineering yeast for co-fermentation of pentose and hexose sugar. More details....

Dr.Swati's laboratory researches on two aspects of DNA biology: DNA replication and chromatin modifications. The two model systems being investigated in her lab are the protozoan parasite Leishmania donovani (causative agent of kala azar) and the euryarchaeon Picrophilus torridus. More details....

Dr.Khasa's laboratory is focused on the large scale production of various proteins of therapeutic importance for clinical applications. Their group have cloned genes encoding asparaginase, scFvs, hTNF-α, hG-CSF, hGM-CSF, hIL-3, hIL-7 and streptokinase and expressed in two heterologous systems: E. coli and Pichia pastoris. Dr. Rajeev KaulRajeevPic

The major focus of Dr.Rajeev's lab is to investigate virus host interactions using various tools in cell culture model system.  Primarily, his lab study three human tumor associated viruses, Epstein Barr Virus (EBV), Kaposi sarcoma associated herepesvirus (KSHV), and Hepatitis C Virus (HCV). In addition, they have recently initiated work on understanding the molecular basis of peste-des-petits ruminants virus (PPRV) mediated host immune modulation. More details.....
