Syllabus for M.Sc. entrance test 2020

The entrance test for admission to M.Sc. programs for academic year 2020-21 will he held in coming months. The dates will be announced on University website as well as department website as and when the admission portal will start functioning. For Entrance Based

B.Sc. (General) or B.Sc. (Hons) or an equivalent Undergraduate Degree in any branch of Life Sciences/ Medical Sciences/ any branch of Biology

60% or above marks in qualifying exam

For Merit Based

B.Sc. (Hons.) in Microbiology from the University of Delhi (after 10+2+3) 

60% or above marks in qualifying exam

  

Tentative seat distribution for academic year 2020-21 for admissions to be held in Jun-Jul 2020

Entrance based (Total= 7): Gen 3, OBC 2, SC 1, EWS1

Merit based (Total= 8): Gen 3, OBC 2, SC 1, ST 1, EWS 1

Note: The exact number of seats in each category may vary as per University guidelines and Government rules applicable at time of admission

Important information for OBC applicants:

The OBC applicants who belong to the ‘Non-Creamy Layer’ and whose caste appears in the Central List of the OBCs only, shall be eligible to be considered for admission under the OBC category (Validity period of OBC certificate in respect of ‘creamy layer’ status of the applicants as per DOPT Office Memorandum No. 36036/2/2013-Estt.(Res-I) dated 31 March 2016). The validity of the non-creamy layer certificate shall be for the financial year 2019-2020, issued after 31st March, 2020. If the applicants do not have the OBC non-creamy layer certificate of the financial year 2019-20 at the time of online application, the applicant may upload old OBC non-creamy layer certificate/acknowledgement slip of OBC non-creamy layer certificate application. However, at the time of admission, the applicant will have to produce the OBC non-creamy layer certificate of the financial year 2019-20.

Entrance Test (DUET-2019) Date and Syllabus:

The date for the conduct of the Entrance Examination for admission to M.Sc. Microbiology is 04-July-2019 at 12 Noon. The details have been posted on University website here. The detailed instructions for candidates for Delhi University Entrance test DUET-2019 can be downloaded here. For those applying under entrance mode, the syllabus for the entrance examination is the B.Sc. (Honors) Microbiology syllabus of the University of Delhi under CBCS system which may be downloaded here. The entrance test will be of 2 hour duration and will consist of 100 multiple choice questions.  

Important information for OBC applicants:

The OBC applicants who belong to the ‘Non-Creamy Layer’ and whose caste appears in the Central List of the OBCs only, shall be eligible to be considered for admission under the OBC category (Validity period of OBC certificate in respect of ‘creamy layer’ status of the applicants as per DOPT Office Memorandum No. 36036/2/2013-Estt.(Res-I) dated 31 March 2016). Fees for the course:

The fees payable for each semester for current academic year will be informed at time of admission. For previous academic year, the fees payable at time of admission for first semester was Rs.2506.
